Understand Your Risk Factors
While some risk factors for heart disease, such as age and family history, can’t be changed, many others can. HER Heart helps you understand what puts you at risk and how to manage it.
Common risk factors for all women include:
- High blood pressure or cholesterol
- Diabetes or insulin resistance

Many women don’t experience classic symptoms of heart disease like crushing chest pain. Instead, signs can be much more subtle, making them easier to miss.

Illena Antonetti
MD
Dr. Illena Antonetti earned her MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry after graduating with honors from the University of Miami, where she double majored in Microbiology and Immunology. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at Strong Memorial Hospital, followed by a Cardiology fellowship at the University of South Florida. A bilingual general Cardiologist, she provides patient-centered care with expertise in stress testing, arrhythmia management, Echocardiography, and women’s heart health.
Carolina Demori
MD
Dr. Carolina Demori earned her medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela, completed her Internal Medicine residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, and trained in Adult Cardiology at Rush University Medical Center. She later completed an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida. She specializes in general Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Amyloidosis, women and heart disease, Cardio-Oncology, and Advanced Imaging, and is board certified in General Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant, Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiac CT.
Jennifer L. Kinaga
MD
Dr. Jennifer L. Kinaga is a board-certified Cardiologist with extensive inpatient and outpatient experience. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University and completed advanced training across multiple cardiovascular specialties. An active member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography, she contributes to research and academic presentations while remaining committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based cardiovascular care and improving long-term heart health.
Swathy Kolli
MD
Dr. Swathy Kolli is a board-certified Cardiologist with subspecialty expertise in Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, including Echocardiography, Cardiac CT, MRI, and Nuclear Imaging. She completed fellowships in Cardiology and Advanced Imaging and serves as Director of Echocardiography and Co-Director of the Cardio-Oncology program at Orlando Health. She has authored numerous publications and national presentations and is dedicated to advancing Cardio-Oncology and optimizing imaging-guided care for complex patients.
Sushma Koneru
MD
Dr. Sushma Koneru is a board-certified general Cardiologist with more than 10 years of experience and advanced training in Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and a year as Chief Resident at Southern Illinois University, followed by an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology fellowship at the University of Rochester and an Adult Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Creighton University Medical Center. She has specialized expertise in Advanced Heart Failure therapies and mechanical circulatory support and is committed to advancing Heart Failure care through research, education, and innovative clinical programs.
