Lushantha S. Gunasekera, MD, FACC

Invasive Cardiology

Dr. Lushantha S. Gunasekera is a board-certified cardiologist with expertise in cardiac CT, nuclear cardiology, and invasive cardiology. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed internal medicine residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center, followed by a cardiology fellowship at SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Gunasekera has been in private practice since 2008. He has authored numerous publications and presentations in cardiology. Dr. Gunasekera is an active volunteer providing medical care globally and locally. He has received awards for exemplary patient care and humanitarian service. Dr. Gunasekera serves on philanthropic organizations in Clermont. He is active in hospital leadership committees focused on quality and safety. He currently serves as Chief of Staff at Southlake Hospital. Dr. Gunasekera's goal is to improve cardiovascular care in collaboration with his patients through prevention, early diagnosis, and innovative treatments.
