Dr. Mouaz N. Tawam is a highly accomplished invasive cardiologist with over 20 years of experience. He received his medical degree from the University of Damascus and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University Medical School. He has held multiple leadership positions at Orlando Health, including Director of Cardiology and medical director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Dr. Tawam is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography and Cardiovascular CT. He held an academic position at the University of Illinois Medical School where he received the Raymond B. Allen (Golden Apple) Instructorship Award. He has participated in several clinical research trials and has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals.

My first visit after reviewing his formal professional background my experience was exactly what I expected. Starting with his personal staff reviewing my medications, past conditions, establishing a baseline EKG regarding my current situation, explaining health journey. The doctor specialist inquired deeper into my health journey making sure to inform him of everything, giving me the opportunity of time listening and taking notes, providing directional advice to be taken now and reactive actions to be made prior to my next visit reviewing initial findings. I am a new patient transferring from a long time previous cardiologist. He took the time to listen to my concerns and address the issues. Came up with a plan that was agreeable and comfortable. Sent information to my other doctors to make sure there is continuity in care. Even spoke with the other doctor in his practice that I need to see to ensure it is done in a timely manner. I find Dr Tawam to be extremely knowledgeable about cardiac issues. He takes his time with patients and answers all of their questions which is rare in today's medical environment. As a matter of fact, Dr Tawam invites questions. He explains things in terms which are understandable by his patients. We had a very serious situation which happened to occur in his office during a visit. He remained extremely calm and gave us exact direction regarding how to proceed.
