Illena Antonetti, MD
General Cardiology
Illena Antonetti, MD, grew up in Lockhart, Florida. She is a graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, where she graduated with general honors, double majored in Microbiology and Immunology, and triple minored in Chemistry, Psychology, and Spanish. Dr. Antonetti attended medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York, where she benefited from the school’s focus on the biopsychosocial model of patient-focused, humanistic medical care. She trained at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, for her internal medicine residency and was elected chief resident. She then completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She began practice in Orlando, Florida, on July 1, 2013 (the very next day after her fellowship ended!). She specializes in providing kindness, empathy, patient-centered care, and general cardiology. Dr. Antonetti has experience in inpatient and outpatient cardiac care, as well as stress testing, initial arrhythmia management, and echocardiography. She enjoys seeing patients from all walks of life, and her number one goal is to take excellent care of them. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on hypertension, women’s heart health, and adult congenital coronary disease. She is fluent in Spanish and English and serves the downtown Orlando and East Orlando communities.
Dr. Antonetti is Board Certified in Cardiology and Internal Medicine. Over her 10 years of practice in Orlando, she has earned a reputation amongst her patients and peers as an engaging, caring, and exceptional cardiologist.
